Digitaal Starten was founded with one goal: making quality digital education accessible to every child and young adult in Suriname, regardless of background.
In today’s world, being digitally literate is not optional — it is essential for employment, education and daily life. Yet in Suriname, structured and affordable Dutch-language digital education is scarce. Digitaal Starten was created to change that.
We believe that every child, teenager and adult in Suriname deserves the opportunity to build the digital skills that employers, universities and society increasingly require.
Each lesson includes interactive exercises, a quiz, homework assignments and a vocabulary section. Students progress at their own pace and receive a certificate upon completing the final exam.
Digitaal Starten is actively seeking partnerships and funding to expand its reach — particularly to underserved communities, schools and youth programmes across Suriname.
We welcome conversations with international organisations, government bodies and foundations committed to education, digital inclusion and youth development in Suriname and the wider Caribbean region.
